• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): This is a chronic condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn, regurgitation, and potential damage to the esophageal lining (erosive esophagitis). Rabeprazole helps heal the esophagus and relieve symptoms.
• Duodenal Ulcers: These are sores that develop in the lining of the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine). Rabeprazole helps in the healing and symptomatic relief of these ulcers.
• Stomach Ulcers (Gastric Ulcers): Similar to duodenal ulcers, rabeprazole is used to heal and relieve symptoms of ulcers in the stomach lining.
• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: A rare condition characterized by the formation of tumors (gastrinomas) that produce excessive amounts of gastrin, leading to very high levels of stomach acid and severe ulcers.
