Cefixime Dispersible Tablets

Product Description

Cefixime is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. It's used to treat:

• Respiratory Tract Infections:
  • Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Pharyngitis (sore throat)
  • Tonsillitis
  • Acute bacterial sinusitis (sinus infection)
• Ear Infections: Acute otitis media (middle ear infection), common in children.
• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Including uncomplicated UTIs and acute pyelonephritis (kidney infection).
• Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Such as uncomplicated gonorrhea (though often used in combination with other antibiotics now due to resistance concerns).
• Typhoid Fever: An off-label but common use in regions where typhoid is prevalent.
• Other Infections: Skin and soft tissue infections, as well as certain other bacterial infections susceptible to cefixime.

Important Note: Cefixime is effective only against bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections like the common cold, flu, or viral sore throats. Using antibiotics unnecessarily can lead to antibiotic resistance, making them less effective when truly needed.
